Introducing a feature-length documentary that shares the life and journey of Peter Brock. If you’re not familiar with the name, Peter Brock was very well known within Australia. Many would state that Peter Brock was the most significant racing car driver that Australia ever saw, and the man was a great icon for the whole world to see.
Growing up as a kid, Peter Brock was a big deal in my home. Every Sunday my father would enjoy watching a lengthy race with pure joy and excitement. Even at a young age, I knew of Peter Brock and I was also aware that he was in fact, a very skilled and professional race car driver who was well respected within Australia. But obviously this documentary reveals a lot of details that I personally was never aware of. It is extremely interesting finding out about the man’s life and passion for racing.

The documentary begins by exploring Peter Brock’s younger years and following him as he grew with his family around him. We see Peter discovering how to build cars and how his genuine passion for driving came to be. As the journey continues, we learn how Peter Brock was eventually on the racing track with the world watching and cheering him on.

During the film we also see various interviews from many people. These interviews include those who influenced Peter Brock during the old days and those who have been impacted by the presence of Peter Brock since, including his close family and loved ones.

The visuals are great. I personally enjoyed seeing the older footage of Peter Brock as a child, but even more, as his journey began. It is obvious the makers of this documentary were rather passionate to provide the best quality footage they could and were keen to tell a complete story of his life. The audio track was also rather enjoyable and those who view this title on surround sound will be very pleased with the end results.
Overall, while I was quite familiar with the Australian icon, this documentary was well presented. It was great to learn and gain insight into this legend, even learning about how it all started. The soundtrack and sound effects for this documentary are stunning and I also enjoyed seeing all the old footage and film reels to tell the whole story. The interviews are powerful, revealing the life of Peter Brock and telling us about the lives that he changed. This documentary tells about the influences that turned a man into an Australian racing legend who will never be forgotten. Brock: Over The Top (2020) is Now Available on Blu-ray & DVD!
